I have completed my PhD in Information Systems at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) with my thesis titled, “Towards a Framework for the Adoption of a Digital Value Chain for Emerging Small-scale Farmers in South Africa”.  I have also completed a Master’s in Development Studies, Post Graduate Diploma (Land and Agrarian Studies) and BSc (Comp Sc and Maths).

My studies use the Transformative Emancipatory Philosophical Paradigm to achieve Digital for Development (D4D) in the pursuit of digital justice for small-scale farmers in South Africa. It incorporates ‘Theories of Social Transformation’ such as the Capabilities Approach and the Sustainable Livelihoods Framework.
